CLEVELAND, Ohio (KDKA) — A woman was reunited with her dog Monday, three years after he went missing and one day after the reunion was originally supposed to happen.
Humane Animal Rescue was processing a relinquished dog last week when they realized the pup, named Prince, had a microchip.
When they checked the microchip, they realized it was not registered to the family who had turned Prince over to the shelter, but to a woman named Jazsmine in Euclid, Ohio.
When they got in touch with her, Jazsmine told the shelter that she hadn’t seen Prince for three years.
The reunion was supposed to happen Sunday afternoon, but Jazsmine’s car broke down as she was driving from Cleveland to Pittsburgh. A Humane Animal Rescue employee brought Prince to Jazsmine instead, driving to Cleveland on Monday so the two could finally be reunited.

Apple, Facebook, Google and other major technology companies asked the Supreme Court late on Monday night to rule that their users’ data should be protected from warantless search and seizure by the government.
The companies filed a brief in the case Carpenter v. United States, which the court has taken up to decide whether certain cellphone data is protected under the Fourth Amendment.
“Whether email, cloud computing, location-based tracking, or any other digital functionality is at issue, users consider many types of collected electronic data to be private—particularly given the personal details that information can reveal—regardless of whether transmission to a third party has occurred behind the scenes in the creation or processing of that data,” the group argues
North Korea’s apparent walk back of its threat to fire missiles near the U.S. territory of Guam could mean military tensions with the United States have been diminished—or at least postponed.
Or it could indicate that much of the seeming escalation in tensions between the two sides last week was more rhetoric than reality to begin with. State media reported Tuesday that Kim Jong Un, the North Korean leader, made the decision following a meeting with military commanders, but he reserved the right to fire the Hawsong-12 near Guam if the U.S. grows “more reckless.”
